OFCOM annual social media survey results

Ofcom has released their annual survey on adult social media use, and the key results are as follows,

  • Only 49% of people using social media apps post, share or comment themselves. This is down from 61% in 2024.
  • The proportion of online adults who feel the benefits of being online outweigh the risks fell to 59%, down from 72% last year.
  • Fewer social media users also say that social media platforms are good for their mental health (36% down from 42%).
  • 67% of those surveyed believe that they spend too long on their devices, with 40% saying that this happens most days.
