Internet and Technology Addicts Anonymous: This is a fellowship aimed at helping those who have various internet addictions. These include, but are not limited to, social media, phone, and general internet addictions. Meetings are conducted online or in person, and in a range of different languages.

MAMA-Mothers Against Media Addiction: This is a group based in the United States whose goal it is to educate parents, ban smartphones from schools, and ensure basic safeguards for technological devices.

Molly Rose Foundation: This is a foundation started by Ian Russell, whose daughter Molly committed suicide in 2017 after being exposed to harmful content on her social media platforms. The mission of the foundation is to hold big tech, government and regulators to account.

The Anxious Generation: Jonathan Haidt wrote his bestselling book, the Anxious Generation, in 2024. It sparked a worldwide movement with four key goals: No smartphones before secondary school, no social media before 16, phone bans in schools, and giving back our children their play based childhood. Haidt also has another website called After Babel, where he shares his recent work, along with inspiring stories from parents and Gen Zers/Millennials, about their life growing up in the smartphone age.

UK Govt Consultation on Growing Up in an Online World (Closes 26/5/26): In March the UK government launched a consultation on how children’s digital technology use. The consultation will also looks at the addictive features of social media, including infinite scrolling and streaks, as well as age verification technology. Anyone in the UK is able to respond, but there are different surveys to complete if you a parent/carer, or a young person under the age of 21.
